Job Description

We are new to the area are looking to add Laborers to our crews. Q3 Contracting, a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. We are headquartered in Minnesota, with branch offices in Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Maryland and South Dakota. We have immediate openings in our Underground Division for a Welder in Baltimore, MD.

Primary Responsibilities include:

The Welder’s main responsible is to safely and effectively fit, assemble, thread, weld and install various types of pipe and pipefittings as necessary to complete utility pipeline installation.  The Welder will perform other duties as required to support the crew.   

Position will include Rig Rent compensation for vehicle, weld rig, and tools. 

Job Requirements

1+ years of previous Welding / Pipefitter experience is required.   

1+ years of working experience in gas distribution or main line industry is required.

Must be able to pass API 1140 weld test.

Requires technical thinking, and the ability to read standards and schematics.

Must be dependable, and willing and able to perform physically demanding work in the elements.  Some of the physical demands are:

  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds on a daily and continual basis.
  • Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
  • Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
  • Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.

Must possess and maintain an appropriate and valid drivers license. 

Welders are subject to outside weather conditions in elements and will be exposed to a variety of noise and ground surface temperatures. 

Welders must be willing to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.  

Pay is determined by union contract.

Q3 Contracting is a drug-free environment.  This position requires compliance with the Q3 Contracting, Inc. and Federal Department of Transportation (FMSCA or PHMSA) drug testing policies and procedures for both pre-employment and continuing random.
