We have an immediate opening for a Light Technician at our Aurora, Colorado office. As a street light technician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work installing and maintaining arterial, residential, and commercial streetlight. This position is also responsible for performing other duties as required as pole installation and locate faults. Initiative and independent judgment are sometimes required in the troubleshooting and repair work with luminaries and cables. Q3 provides all necessary equipment and PPE.  Additional duties as requested by crew leaders.

Job Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain an appropriate and valid driver’s license. Class A license preferred. 
  • Must complete the accredited program as Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT)
  • Excellent analytical skills with high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with all customers (internal/external)


Must be dependable, and willing and able to perform physically demanding work in the elements.  Some of the physical demands are:

  • Must be able to lift and carry on a frequent basis, up to 50-90 pounds on a daily and continual basis.
  • Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
  • Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
  • Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.


Q3 Contracting is a drug-free environment.  This position requires compliance with the Q3 Contracting, Inc. and Federal Department of Transportation (FMSCA or PHMSA) drug testing policies and procedures for both pre-employment and continuing random.
